Catching Shifts Before They Hit You · 4.12

Setting Alerts On Competitor Names And Area-Plus-Agent Searches

A free, passive way to catch a competitor being mentioned somewhere new — a press feature, a new listing, a partnership — without having to actively go looking for it yourself every week.

Why this matters

The customer’s side

Not directly customer-facing — this is a low-effort net that catches things you'd otherwise only stumble on by chance, freeing up the active checks in this course for what actually needs judgement.

The search engine’s side

Prerequisite — a passive net, not an active check

Not a ranking factor — a passive prerequisite that makes the rest of this course's monitoring cheaper to keep up, since it flags anything genuinely new without you having to go actively searching for it.

How to check yours

  1. 1

Check whether you already have any alerts set up for your competitors' names or your own local market terms.

How to fix what you find

If you don't currently have any alerts running

set up a free Google Alert for each named competitor, plus one for "[your area] estate agent" or similar, and let it run in the background.

Keeping on top of it

Set once, passive after that

Set once — this runs passively in the background; just glance at what it's caught whenever it arrives, rather than checking on a schedule.

How Reyse handles this

Done With You

we help you set up the right alerts so nothing genuinely new slips past unnoticed.

Done For You

we run this kind of monitoring continuously as part of your reporting, so nothing relevant is ever missed.
