1. Our aim
We want everyone to be able to use reyse.co.uk, including people who use a keyboard instead of a mouse, a screen reader, magnification, or reduced motion. We work to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard most UK organisations use.
2. What you can expect
- Every page works with a keyboard alone. The first link on each page skips straight past the menus to the content.
- Text and buttons meet WCAG AA colour contrast, and pages still work zoomed to 400%.
- If your device asks for reduced motion, animations are switched off.
- Images that carry meaning have text descriptions, and decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
- Forms label every field, tell you which are optional, and announce problems and confirmations to screen readers.
- Pages are built with proper headings and landmarks, so screen readers can jump between sections.
3. How we test
Every page on the site is checked with automated accessibility tests (axe) whenever we make significant changes, and the key journeys (the menus, the Get started form, the courses and the Founding Five county map) are tested by hand with a keyboard. The site was last tested on 16 October 2026.
4. What isn't right yet
We'd rather tell you than have you find out. These are the parts we know fall short:
- The downloadable PDFs (checklists, worksheets and course guides) aren't fully tagged for screen readers yet. Every PDF's content is also on the website as a normal page, and we'll send any of them in another format if you ask.
- Some course lessons use pictures of tools like Google Search or ChatGPT to show what you'll see. The lesson text explains everything the picture shows, but the pictures themselves are illustrations rather than live tools.
5. Tell us about a problem
If something on the site doesn't work for you, or you need anything in a different format, email hello@reyse.co.uk. A person reads every message and replies within 1 working day, and we'll tell you when it's fixed.
